Well here we are, Week 5. Let's start with the bad stuff, It sucked, It hurt and It's a big fat liar head!!! Couch to 5 K, that's the program I'm using if you forgot. Now if you remembered weeks 1 to 4, they all sucked but not as much as week 5, now will be known as "the week that is not to be mentioned" You see, the weeks were tougher as you go but what you did on day one is pretty much what you did on day 3. At this rate you can be ready for the next 2 days. Not week 5, dirty liar head. Day one was scary enough, start with a 5 min warm up and then run 5 min. and walk 3 min. and repeat 3 times, Now at this point I'm doing pretty good, feeling mighty fine, looking extra buff and all that. Day two came around and as i was starting my run of 5 min, I felt great. Then the balloon was burst!! as I looked down at my IPhone, Which has the Couch to 5K app running, I was getting ready to slow for my 3 min. walk when I noticed it said "Run 3.13 min". Wait a sec, something is wrong, where did I miss, what do I do? So I troopered on {yes i make up my own words here} like a big boy till it said walk again. I then noticed where I went wrong, well not me. The program changed, IT WHAT? yea I know. It now said "run 8 min and walk 3". Before I could really sink my teeth into this oversight, "IT SAID RUN 8 MIN". Oh my good god! Well I made It, good for me, yea!! and all that jazz. As I sat in the truck after it was over and I thought, what is day 3 like. I had to look! and here is what it said,"5 min warm-up, then jog for 20 minutes with no walking". NO WHAT? who is the smart ass that came up with that one, did I wrong you in some way, have I angered you in a past life, WHAT IS IT. 20 min, 20 MIN?......
Well cool cats. I did it! yea I know, I didn't fall on my face, I didn't yell "CALL 911", I really ran for 20 min. [pause and reflect] wow!
OK, now on to the Good stuff. I made it, I didn't stop, I really did it. Also what needs to be mentioned is week 5 also marks the half way mark. Bob is half way into the program and still trucking!!!! totally kick butt cool!!!! something else, I ran without stopping a distance of........your gonna freak........1.75 miles!!!! I know!!! who would have guessed it..not me. So half way and still standing. that Is really cool. But know this..Week 5 Still sucks!!!!! Big Time.
