That's what the official results are saying. Whats that mean you ask? well, 4722 this is my position out of 5747 people. 26965 is my Bib number that I had stuck on me, you'll see that when I get the pics loaded. 45, well that would be my age. M is male, 90 is my position in my age group (45-49) out of 145. don't worry about the 1. 46:47.80 is the time from start to finish. 13:22/m is 13 min per mile.

All in all people, not bad. I wanted to finish the race, Check. I didn't want to finish in last place, Check and I didn't want to finish last in my age group, Check. I DID ALL of my goals....

Week 5, I will hate you the most of all!!!!!

Well here we are, Week 5. Let's start with the bad stuff, It sucked, It hurt and It's a big fat liar head!!! Couch to 5 K, that's the program I'm using if you forgot. Now if you remembered weeks 1 to 4, they all sucked but not as much as week 5, now will be known as "the week that is not to be mentioned" You see, the weeks were tougher as you go but what you did on day one is pretty much what you did on day 3. At this rate you can be ready for the next 2 days. Not week 5, dirty liar head. Day one was scary enough, start with a 5 min warm up and then run 5 min. and walk 3 min. and repeat 3 times, Now at this point I'm doing pretty good, feeling mighty fine, looking extra buff and all that. Day two came around and as i was starting my run of 5 min, I felt great. Then the balloon was burst!! as I looked down at my IPhone, Which has the Couch to 5K app running, I was getting ready to slow for my 3 min. walk when I noticed it said "Run 3.13 min". Wait a sec, something is wrong, where did I miss, what do I do? So I troopered on {yes i make up my own words here} like a big boy till it said walk again. I then noticed where I went wrong, well not me. The program changed, IT WHAT? yea I know. It now said "run 8 min and walk 3". Before I could really sink my teeth into this oversight, "IT SAID RUN 8 MIN". Oh my good god! Well I made It, good for me, yea!! and all that jazz. As I sat in the truck after it was over and I thought, what is day 3 like. I had to look! and here is what it said,"5 min warm-up, then jog for 20 minutes with no walking". NO WHAT? who is the smart ass that came up with that one, did I wrong you in some way, have I angered you in a past life, WHAT IS IT. 20 min, 20 MIN?......
Well cool cats. I did it! yea I know, I didn't fall on my face, I didn't yell "CALL 911", I really ran for 20 min. [pause and reflect] wow!
OK, now on to the Good stuff. I made it, I didn't stop, I really did it. Also what needs to be mentioned is week 5 also marks the half way mark. Bob is half way into the program and still trucking!!!! totally kick butt cool!!!! something else, I ran without stopping a distance of........your gonna freak........1.75 miles!!!! I know!!! who would have guessed it..not me. So half way and still standing. that Is really cool. But know this..Week 5 Still sucks!!!!! Big Time.

Week 4!!!

OK it's official, week 4 sucks! run 3 min, run 5 min and do It again! what? not to worry my fine following friends. I did it, I really did. Wow, 2.25 miles. I was impressed as well. So the idea of someone actually going from, well how should we put this, A sofa surfer to 5K material in 9 weeks. It's shaping up to be a true statement. So FAR!! let's not get all cocky here. I still have 2 more days at week 4 and then to week 5, I'm kinda scared to see what that's gonna bring. I'll try and get some pic's of the running and lifting and sweating. Why you ask, why not I say.

I'm still here!!!

I fell behind on things a bit. Sorry! A lot of things have happened in the last month, I'm back on track now. Let me catch you up. The Warrior Dash is still on for Oct. 30. I made it to week four in the training. I didn't give up! The family came out for Em's graduation. I had a job change, i miss my friends from DMP. So i took a week off and Golfed. Lots of Golf, 5 rounds, 5 days. So the running took a back seat for a bit, I'm back on track again. I just started week 3 over and I am now on week 4 again, Which totally sucks!!! My god man who can run 5 min? Ok, maybe a lot of people but not me, actually i am. Pretty cool!! ahhh not really cuz I'm running for 5 min.I'm so torn on this subject.. Success and what was i thinking!! a hard road to travel.

Week 2 of 5K training

Hey!! I made it!!! well just week 1 anyway. Recap- week one of Couch to 5k, 5 min brisk walk, 20 min. of 60 sec. run and 90 sec. walk, follow up with a 5 min cool down.
Week 2 now up and running. and it sucks! 5 min brisk walk, 20 min. of 90 sec. run and 120 sec. walk, follow up with a 5 min cool down. Not doing to bad yet, still have one more day of that and then it's off to Week 3. Oh Joy!
